Kolukkumalai Tea Estate is the world’s highest tea estate located at 7900 feet above sea level and known for its breathtaking beauty. Attukal Waterfalls– Located 9 kms from Munnar, it is surrounded by rolling hills and dense forests & is known for its scenic beauty especially during the monsoons.

Lakkam Waterfalls- Located near Marayoor this picturesque waterfall is quite popular among tourists. It is surrounded by Vaga trees and rocky terrain and is a visual treat for water lovers.

Nyayamakad Waterfalls – Surrounded by lush green forest, Itis located about 10 kms between Munnar and Rajamala. A stunning waterfall that cascades from a height of 1600 meters it’s an ideal destination for trekking and adventure sports.

Thoovanam Waterfalls – This spectacular and breathtaking waterfall is located on the Pamba river deep inside the  Chinnar wildlife sanctuary at 60 kms away from Munnar. Tourists can enjoy the rich biodiversity and can engage in bird watching.

Eravikulam National Park – It is located in the Kannan Devan Hills towards the southern Western Ghats. Anamudi Shola National Park– Located in the Western Ghats this national park is famous for its Shola forests and rich biodiversity. Due to its unique climate and perennial water sources it is home to large variety of herbs, shrubs, trees and climbers. It is located roughly 45 kms from Munnar and gives a grand view of the tea plantations. Tourists can also spot different species of birds, deers, cats, wolves and reptiles.

Mathikettan Shola National Park – Located in Poopara village in Idukki village this national park is home to diverse wildlife that includes Tigers, Panthers, Elephants, squirrels and spotted deer. The name of the park is a Tamil term which means “mind confuser” as it is believed to get easily lost in the dense forest of the park.

Pampadum Shola National Park – Located nearly 35 kms from Munnar this National Park is home to rich flora and fauna that includes endemic species of shrubs, herbs and trees.The clear blue sky, clean air and stretch of green meadows makes it a dream destination for tourists.

Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary – Located near Munnar and spread across an area of approx. 91 Km square this Wildlife reserve offers a pristine beauty and charm along with a laidback atmosphere. It is a perfect destination for a weekend getaway to explore rich wildlife habitat.

Muniyara Dolmes – Located about 45 kms from Munnar on the slopes of Nilgiris these are ancient burial sites dating back to the Megalithic Age. The dolmens are large stone structures that were used as burial chambers.

CSI Christ Church – Built in 1910 this church is one of the oldest Anglican churches in Munnar. The gothic style architecture, stained glass windows and granite floors gives a nostalgic feeling of the bygone era.

Winter (October to February): The best time to visit Munnar. The weather is cool and pleasant, making it ideal for sightseeing and outdoor activities.

Summer (March to May):  A good time to escape the heat of the plains, with temperatures in Munnar remaining relatively cool.
