Daywise Itinerary

After arriving at the NJP St. / Bagdogra Airport transfer to Phuentsholing which is called the Indo-Bhutan Border or the “Gateway of Thunder Dragons” . Rest day is in leisure. Overnight stay at Phuentsholing.

 

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer towards Bhutan's Capital, Thimphu. After check in to the hotel, you may visit below places:

Clock Tower Square: Clock Tower Square is a central landmark in Thimphu. It’s a vibrant public space surrounded by various shops, restaurants. The square features a striking clock tower that is beautifully adorned with traditional Bhutanese motifs, blending modern functionality with cultural aesthetics.

Tashi Choe Dzong(Outer View): Tashi Choe Zong is a well-known architectural and cultural site in Thimphu, Bhutan. It's not just a place of significance but also an embodiment of Bhutanese heritage.

Handicrafts Market: Handicrafts market is a local market where you may do shopping for your families, friends or any relatives.

Kuensel Phodrang: Kuensel Phodrang is also famous with the name of Buddha Dordenma Statue. Great Buddha Dordenma is a gigantic Shakyamuni Buddha statue in the mountains of Bhutan. It stands at an impressive height of 51.5 metres (169 feet), making it one of the largest statues of the Buddha in the world. The statue is constructed of bronze and is covered in gold, giving it a striking appearance that catches the eye from a great distance. The Buddha Dordenma statue is not just a religious icon but also serves as a symbol of peace and prosperity for Bhutan. 

After this we will transfer you towards Paro. On the way you may visit the below mentioned places:

Paro Airport View: Paro Airport is the only International Airport in Bhutan which  is renowned for its stunning and dramatic setting. Nestled in a deep valley surrounded by steep mountains, the airport offers breathtaking views. The runway is short and situated between high peaks, which makes the approach and takeoff particularly scenic and thrilling. 

National Museum of Bhutan: The National Museum of Bhutan, known as the Rinpoché Museum in Dzongkha, is located in the town of Paro. It is housed in the Ta Dzong, a circular fortress that was originally built as a watchtower in the 17th century. The museum was established in 1968 and is renowned for its rich collection of Bhutanese artefacts, including traditional clothing, religious art, and historical relics.

Tamchog Lhakhang: Tamchog Lhakhang is a significant Buddhist monastery located in Bhutan. It's situated in the Paro Valley, which is known for its stunning landscapes and historical sites. The monastery is famous for its unique architecture, which includes traditional Bhutanese design elements and intricate woodwork. It’s also associated with the building of iron bridges in Bhutan, reflecting Thangtong Gyalpo’s contributions to infrastructure in the region.
