The original plan was to build a 120-meter tall statue. Its location also has the best spot for city sightseeing. Our next stop is at the Pura Lempuyang temple, located on the slopes of Mount Lempuyang, a holy mountain. The temple’s iconic ‘Gate of Heaven’ has become a social media sensation. The temple is one of the oldest and holiest sites on the island. Nestled at a height of around 1,175 meters above sea level, the temple is reached by climbing a steep staircase of more than 1,700 steps.
