During our exploration, we'll encounter remnants of Dutch, British, and various other nations that historically engaged in trade within the city. Our first stop is the Galle Face Green, an ocean-side park and Colombo's largest seaside promenade. Enjoy the stunning sunset views at this popular park, initially planned in 1850 as a golf course and horse racing track. Next on our itinerary is the Colombo National Museum, established in 1877, boasting the title of Sri Lanka's largest museum. Marvel at its neo-Baroque architecture while exploring over 100,000 exhibits, providing insights into Sri Lanka's extensive history. We'll then step into the historical Galle Face Hotel, built in 1864, where British Ceylon Governor Sir Henry Ward once indulged in golf. After a delightful lunch with a sea view, our journey continues to the iconic Colombo Fort, now the financial hub housing offices like the Stock Exchange and the World Trade Centre. This area, previously a Dutch hospital, remains a mesmerizing structure. Concluding our tour, we'll return to the hotel for a comfortable overnight stay in Colombo.
