Daywise Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Colombo Airport, our dedicated team will be there to welcome you. They will escort you to the hotel for check-in in Colombo. The remainder of the day is yours to unwind and discover the city at your own pace. Enjoy some leisure time before we retire for the night at the hotel in Colombo.

Colombo serves as the primary business and commercial hub, while Sri Jayawardhanapura Kotte functions as the new capital, located a short distance away. Initially a modest seaport, Colombo gained prominence in the 16th Century with the arrival of the Portuguese in 1505. Significant harbor development occurred during the British colonial period. Established as the capital in 1815 after the British acquisition of the Kandyan Kingdom, Colombo showcases remnants of Portuguese, Dutch, and British colonial architecture throughout the city. Although the fortifications from the Portuguese and Dutch eras no longer exist, some buildings and churches remain in the Fort and Pettah areas. Visitors can explore historical sites such as Fort, Sea Street, the Bazaar area, Kayman’s Gate, Dutch Church of Wolfendhaal, Kelaniya Buddhist Temple, Davatagaha Mosque, Colombo Museum, and the Natural History Museum. Additionally, a trip to BMICH, with the Bandaranaike Memorial and the replica of Avukana Buddha, as well as the Independence Memorial, is recommended. Allocate time for shopping before returning to your hotel.

Begin your day in Colombo with a delightful breakfast at the hotel before we embark on a journey to Kandy. En route, we'll make a brief stop at the renowned Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage, a cherished attraction in Sri Lanka. This sanctuary is home to 65 captive elephants, each with its own unique story of rescue. Some were orphaned as infants, while others are elderly matriarchs or adults that endured unethical treatment in captivity and couldn't survive in the wild. Take pleasure in interacting with these majestic creatures and witnessing the compassionate efforts to provide them a safe haven. Following the enriching experience at the elephant orphanage, we'll proceed to Kandy and check in at the hotel for an overnight stay.

Following breakfast, make your way to Dalada Maligawa, also known as the Temple of the Tooth Relic, just in time for the captivating 'Pooja' ceremony. Situated in the city of Kandy, Sri Dalada Maligawa is a Buddhist temple nestled within the royal palace complex, preserving the sacred tooth relic of Buddha. Throughout history, this relic has held significant influence in local politics, symbolizing governance over the country. Kandy, the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings, is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site, with the temple being a key contributing factor. Immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage by attending a traditional Sri Lankan cultural show, featuring captivating performances of local dances.

Start your day with a delightful breakfast at the Kandy hotel. Shortly after, we will embark on a 5-hour car journey to Nuwara Eliya. Upon arrival, we'll assist you with the hotel check-in before commencing our sightseeing tour. Our first stop is the Nuwara Eliya Golf Course, surrounded by cypress trees and tea plantations. Established by the British, it's one of the oldest tea plantations in Asia, offering a luxurious golfing experience with lessons available for those interested. Explore the charming Victoria Park, originally a research field for Hakgala Botanical Garden, now a beautiful public park named in 1897 to honor Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. Admire the naturally formed lakes created by the River Nanu Oya. Discover the artificially built Gregory Lake, a popular spot for picnics and recreational activities. Take a leisurely stroll around Sita Eliya, a sacred temple with Lord Hanuman's footprints, and a small stream where Sita is believed to have bathed. Dress modestly for your visit. Later, visit the Pedro Tea Estate, located just 3.5km from Nuwara Eliya. This picturesque estate offers a serene walk amid stunning views and practices 19th-century tea processing techniques. Immerse yourself in the aroma of fresh tea and enjoy the cool breeze. Conclude the day by driving back to the hotel in Nuwara Eliya, where you'll spend the night.

Indulge in a delicious breakfast at the hotel before an exciting day ahead. Today, we're venturing to Yala National Park for a thrilling Jeep Safari, offering an opportunity to encounter leopards in their natural habitat. This expansive park includes the Strict Natural Reserve (Block II) and Ruhuna National Park (Block I), with Kumana National Park, also known as "Yala East," adjacent to Ruhuna. The Jeep Safari, available at an additional cost, allows you to explore Yala National Park in the afternoon. Yala is renowned for its diverse wildlife, housing protected indigenous species and attracting migrating birds. The lagoons and salvers within the park are particularly popular for birdwatching, featuring thousands of flamingos, billed pelicans, spoonbills, and various other bird species. On land, you'll likely encounter wild buffaloes and elephants, making for a captivating wildlife experience. After immersing yourself in the beauty of Yala's wildlife and nature, we'll return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Yala. Please note that Safari and tickets are at your own cost.

Relish your breakfast at the hotel before checking out and leaving Nuwara Eliya. Our next destination is Galle, renowned for its Portuguese architecture and historical significance. Upon arrival, our Galle tour kicks off with a visit to the iconic Galle Clock Tower, situated within the fortified Galle Fort. Built in 1883, this landmark was a gift from Mudaliyar Samson, symbolizing the appreciation of the people of Galle for Dr. P. D. Anthonisz. Explore Galle Face Green, Colombo's largest seaside promenade, offering a picturesque setting for sunset views. Originally planned as a golf course and horse racing track in 1850, the park has intriguing historical tales associated with its creation. Next, discover the Dutch Fort, an ancient fortress initially constructed by the Portuguese and later fortified by the Dutch. Located in the Gampaha district, the fort boasts a pentagon shape. After the fort exploration, we'll return to your hotel in Galle for a well-deserved night of rest.

Following breakfast, embark on a city tour of Galle, renowned for its well-preserved 17th-century Dutch Fort, intricate lace making, and ebony carvings. The scenic journey to Galle takes you along the palm-fringed coast, passing through Ambalangoda, famous for its mask makers, and Hikkaduwa, known for its stunning coral gardens and vibrant tropical fish. Along the way, indulge in the delectable specialty of seafood.

Following breakfast, complete the check-out process from your current hotel room in Galle. We will then embark on a drive to Bentota, where you will check-in at the hotel upon arrival. The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy at your leisure—whether you choose to relax at the hotel or explore Bentota on your own. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Bentota.

Today promises excitement as we embark on a thrilling adventure into the southern sea for Mirissa Whale Watching. The day trip spans a few hours, beginning with your driver awaiting your arrival at the rendezvous point to transport you to the dock. For an additional fee, you can board a boat that sets sail into the sea, offering a delightful picnic breakfast amidst the waves. Revel in the sea's beauty during the approximately 5-hour journey as we seek the awe-inspiring sight of the world's largest mammals—the blue whales. Upon returning to the shore, we will proceed to indulge in a delectable lunch at Paradise Beach Club Restaurant (separate bills to be settled by guests). Enjoy your meal before unwinding by the pool, which boasts a breathtaking view of the Indian Ocean. Our return to Bentota will be via a scenic cruise.

Savor a delightful breakfast at the hotel before completing the check-out process. Today marks our departure from Bentota as we make our way to Colombo for the International Airport. You'll return home with a truly unforgettable and lasting memory of a lifetime.
