Indulge in a delightful breakfast before embarking on a scenic drive to Balapitiya. Our destination is the enchanting Madu River, where a leisurely boat safari awaits. Traverse the biodiverse waters of Madu Ganga, meandering through mangrove forests, and marvel at the 64 islands that make this river a haven for nature enthusiasts and bird watchers. Encounter rare bird species, reptiles, and witness traditional Stilt Fishing practiced by local fishermen. Next, we'll visit the Kosgoda Sea Turtle Conservation Project, a vital initiative since 1981. Discover the process of turtle hatching, as the project nurtures newborn turtles in controlled environments before releasing them into the wild at night. Gain insights into the conservation efforts focused on five endangered turtle species, and have the opportunity to interact with these fascinating creatures. For the thrill-seekers, Bentota offers optional water sports such as tube riding, banana boat, or jet skiing at additional personal cost. After an exhilarating day, we'll return to the hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.

Embarking early from Bentota, our journey takes us to the captivating city of Galle in the south-western part of the island. The Galle Fort, a historical marvel from the Dutch colonial era completed in 1663, awaits exploration. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988, the fort showcases a unique blend of European and Sri Lankan architectural influences. A visit to the Galle National Museum unveils a rich collection of artifacts crafted from ebony, tortoise shell, and aged wood, offering a glimpse into the bygone era. Continuing our exploration, we cruise down the serene Madu River, immersing ourselves in the healing embrace of the mangrove forest. Witness the remarkable biodiversity of Madu River, housing 19 endemic species, and enjoy the scenic beauty of its 64 islands. Encounter rare bird species, reptiles, and observe the traditional Stilt Fishing practiced by local fishermen. As the day unfolds, we return to Bentota, where you can unwind and spend the night at the hotel.

Offering breathtaking panoramic views and an incredible ambiance, this temple's historical significance, intertwined with Sri Lanka's politics, continues to attract visitors, including politicians. Next on the itinerary is the Anjaneyar Temple, the country's first and only temple dedicated to Anjaneyar with Panchamuga (five-faced). It holds the distinction of being the sole place globally where Ajanyear's chariot can be found. Our journey proceeds to the Gangaramaya Buddhist Temple, a functional learning center for the past 120 years. Nestled by the scenic Beira Lake, this temple showcases a harmonious blend of Sri Lankan, Thai, Chinese, and Indian architectural influences.
